Het Steen
Het Steen is the oldest preserved building in Antwerp. Throughout its history, the Steen has had different functions. It has served as a fortress, a court, a prison and a home for disabled soldiers. From 2021, the Steen will have a new function as a reception center where visitors and residents can go for information, tickets, bookings and exhibitions. Located along the Scheldt, the Steen is ideal to combine with a walk along the waterfront or follow the interactive trail and travel through the city and time. In a short time you will learn a lot about Antwerp and get a lot of inspiration for your further visit. Finish on the roof and look out over the Scheldt and the city.
Cathedral

Vlaeykensgang
Here time has really stood still. It is a tangle of alleys and corridors connecting the Hoogstraat, the Oude Korenmarkt and the Pelgrimsstraat. The corridor dates from the year 1591 and you can dream away and imagine what it was like here in days gone by. This used to be where the poorest of the City lived. Walk under the Scheldt River to a stunning skyline
Antwerp has a nearly 100-year-old pedestrian tunnel. Take the authentic wooden escalators down and walk (or bike) under the Scheldt to the other side. On the Left Bank, take the escalators to the top and admire the city's skyline.Tip: Walk north along the Scheldt to the beach of Sint-Anneke. Here you have the cozy cafes and restaurants to choose from.
Antwerp Central: get off at one of the most beautiful train stations in the world
Watching your eyes take on a whole new meaning when you arrive at Antwerp-Central train station, also known as the railroad cathedral. Take the escalators to the top and admire the huge steel platform roof, the magnificent facade and the impressive entrance hall. No wonder this station is called one of the most beautiful in the world according to numerous international lists.Tip: Fancy even more splendor? Step into the Zoo next to the station and admire one of the oldest zoos in Europe. It is a wonderfully green place, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
